Level 1 synths (in the previous section) are great creative tools for use in your home set-up, or as part of a music studio, but they rely upon software programs or other equipment to get the job done. However, the monsters here in Level 2 are born to perform in front of the world, and you'll see them fronting the big name bands and solo performers.
  Most, but not all, are full workstations with sophisticated recording devices, and don't be surprised to find that they may also incorporate a professional sampler too. Put it this way - there isn't a Level 3!
