The name Glockenspiel is derived from the German word for bells (glocken) and play (spiel). Glockenspiels generally have metallic notebars which are hit with beaters to produce a high pitch bell-like sound. We now have a much-extended range of Glocks that cater for young children through to semi-professional players, although the professional models now appear in our gallery Concert Glocks in the section of Concert Percussion.
