Condenser microphones, occasionally called capacitor mics, are more suited to picking up softer or more delicate vocal signals, as this type of microphone is much more sensitive and specially tuned to the human voice!

Some are supplied with batteries, and others will need to be connected to a mixer or amp which offers "phantom power".
