The tenor sax is in the key of Bb, the same as the soprano sax.  

  It is widely regarded as the most expressive and lyrical member of the family, ranging from a dark and breathy tone, popular in many jazz and rock pieces, to a very pure sound. Just listen to tracks by famous artists such as Tom Scott, Stan Getz or Snake Davis and you'll hear what we mean!
