Increasingly, we are supplying Primary schools with some wonderful software which is fun and very instructive, and our gallery has lots of advice, some mini-reviews and screen shots of the most successful programs we have tested.
Key Stage 1 pupils can start with some brightly graphical programs, for example Groovy Music Shapes, Groovy City, and ESP's Play, and there is a scheme of work covering 180 lesson plans called Starclass. Go to our KS1-2 Gallery for full reviews.
Key Stage 2 and 3 pupils have even more choice - as well as more Groovy Music programs, we also feature the various Music Ace programs, The Dums and The Dums International. These are featured in our KS2-3 Gallery. All of the above programs are instructional programs, rather than the sequencer programs and scorewriting programs which are popular for more experienced young musicians,
We are also BETA-testing a brand new program which teaches all about the instruments in the orchestra, and all the theory of music and musical terms, and there will be more about this after Easter.
As always, we're here to provide advice to teachers - just call us on 0845 862 1913 (local rate) or 01752 313 300 or email team@starland.co.uk
