Secondary Schools

Heads of Music departments in Middle Schools and Secondaries, whether in the private or state sectors, have widely differing musical needs, depending upon the styles of bands, orchestras or soloists who are learning at key Stage 3, GCSE, “A” level or through Music Grades at the school.

Nearly every single secondary school throughout the country already has a Starland Music account number, and probably a record of regular purchases since 1985. Some still know us as “Keyboards in Action” from the days in which we used to supply just keyboards, but for the past 20 years or more we’ve been suppliers of percussion, brass, woodwind and strings.  Since 2008, our partnership with Frederick Hyde has widened the range even more, allowing us to offer an unparalleled range of equipment at very keen prices across the musical spectrum.

For years, we’ve run a technical support service for equipment purchased through Starland, and still operate a busy Service department for keyboard instruments which are in need of TLC.

Ask the Music Advisory team for help in preparing a competitive bid when a new music project is being considered. For example, if you fancy getting the whole school into Samba drums, a keyboard lab, African drumming, classical guitar classes, a Music IT lab, tuned percussion set, a rock band or other musical projects, you could benefit from a quick chat over the phone, which we would follow by sending you a written quotation to discuss with your colleagues.

A full 212-page catalogue is available free to every school which has an account – log on to request your copy.

If you have authority to make purchases on behalf of a secondary school, log on to your school’s account for preferential educational prices.
