This small Tibetan singing bowl is a nicely made bowl supplied with stick and cushion. 

To play, you hold the bowl in the flat of your palm and rub the bowl with the stick to produce the warm and unique tones of this singing bowl. 

Singing bowls have been used in religious ceremonies for well over 1500 years and are particularly associated with Tibetan Buddhism. They are also used extensively in all types of music, from rock to jazz.
