This is no ordinary piano! This is a state-of-the-art entry-level musical instrument which on the outside looks traditiional with beautiful cabinetry, full pedalboard and sliding lid.

Underneath this lid however is a console which will springboard any level of playing ability into a musical world of creativity, whether you are a composer, beginner or casual player.

Adopting Yamaha's latest 'Pure CF' piano technology, the CVP501 by default loads up an exquisite, grand piano voice, with dynamics and amazing clarity. Playing the 88-note Graded Hammer keyboard routes this default voice through the built-in 20 watt stereo speaker system, suited to practice in the classroom (or playing at home).

The range of high quality voices is incredible and even brass/woodwind and guitars sound authentic, whilst synths, drums and basses sound powerful. Sixteen of the seven hundred sounds can be arranged and recorded using the onboard sequencer, and stored to an optional memory stick.Alternatively, download MIDIfile songs to the memorystick from the internet and import them into the CVP-501, and you will be playing along with your favourite songs.

Anything you record incidentally can be instantly played back, whilst the large LCD screen displays your musical score in a manuscript form! For those who are unsure whether a piano or keyboard is the correct choice, the CVP 501 is designed to accommodate both, as an amazing array of left-hand styles (backing tracks) are provided.

With nearly two hundred styles available from World to pop, jazz and rock, all musical tastes are well catered for! Whilst hundreds of exciting preset setups are available for the user to explore, just about everything is programmable (rhythms, styles and handy registration or instant memory setups), and one of Yamaha's many strengths is in the intuitive user interface based around a large LCD display.
