M-Audio ProKeys Sono 88

For the serious computer music arranger, the Prokeys Sono 88 is the serious solution, with touch-sensitive 88-note keyboard, additional onboard premium voices and audio interface built-in.

The SONO-88 has to be the choice for those who prefer a better quality key-action and indeed, M-Audio decided to fit this model with 88 semi-weighted keys, giving substance and a more natural feel to the keys which extend to 40-notes of polyphony. This means that those who are used to playing piano and need the full quota of seven and a quarter octaves for inputting data should feel at home with this model under their fingers!

A slim, slender and very portable USB controller, it features the most important connections too such as stereo line ins, XLR balanced microphone input, line outs and dual headphone sockets.

The extended premium onboard voices are extremely authentic, and there is even a built-in GM (General MIDI) set of sounds (with reverbs and chorus effects). These sounds include drums and percussion playable directly from the keys - straight in to your music software package. The data is then played back in to the Sono-88 and hey presto....MUSIC !!

Whilst the Sono-88 does NOT have speakers, dual headphone sockets are provided for pupil/teacher to monitor arrangements recorded and played back by the computer. The built-in audio interface allows for connecting stereo sources or microphones, to embed real sound directly into your DAW (Cubase for example) and therefore does away with expensive additional hardware and connecting leads.

A top of the range controller but still an excellent price, especially considering the level of technology this wonderful model provides!
