Practice Piano D-3

This stylish looking compact digital piano offers good sound quality and keyboard action at a great price, making it perfect for any playing ability, but with an emphasis on the beginner.

The D3 has a suprisingly large palette of 26 onboard voices which are produced from stereo samples (recordings). The default piano voice for example is taken directly from a concert grand piano and the sample length is increased for added realism. Axus’s dual split-velocity piano sound system uses separate samples for higher-velocity key pressure and lower-velocity key pressure for a rich and realistic grand piano sound. This provides a full dynamic range from the delicate crispness of softly played notes to the rich full character of sustained tones.

The newly developed RHA (Real Hammer Action) simulates the natural touch and the playing performance of an acoustic grand piano. It offers superb response and a smooth feel that will satisfy even the most demanding players. Rather than using springs, the action is instead provided by hammer weight, which makes for a truly authentic piano touch. The keyboard provides a lighter touch in the upper range and a heavier touch in the lower range just like the characteristics of a grand piano.

With a traditional looking cabinet in a rosewood finish, the Axus D3 has a full compliment of authentic looking pedals, which help sustain and dampen any of the 26 onboard sounds.  These sounds (pianos, organs etc) can be layered and ultimately, your playing is projected by the stereo 7-watt speakers which are fine for intimate playing, but certainly NOT suited to school halls or churches. Unfortunately, the D3 does not provide an audio output socket for connecting to external amplifiers, although both MIDI and USB are present.
