Practice Piano D5

A digital piano designed for the more discerning player, the Axus D5 has a few refinements over it's little brother (the D3), to include enhancements in areas such as tonal quality, key action and speaker power rated at 25 watts.

Using 'ROS v.4' sampling technology to provide clear and authentic onboard voices, the default piano voice (for example) is taken directly from a concert grand piano and the sample length is increased for added realism. Axus’s dual split-velocity piano sound system uses separate samples for higher-velocity key pressure and lower-velocity key pressure for a rich and realistic grand piano sound. This provides a full dynamic range from the delicate crispness of softly played notes to the rich full character of sustained tones.

The D5 is GM compatible too, meaning that when connected via USB to your computer, a wealth of 'MIDIfile' songs can be played into the D5 for you to play along with. GM drum kits and an array of instrument sounds are also included and this wonderful world of sound is heard through the stereo 25-watt speakers (or via the twin headphone sockets for those who wish to practice in silence). 

The speakers are configured around two woofers and two tweeters and the overall  output power is just enough power for the classroom, but not enough if accompanying a school band or choir. The good news is that the designers of the D5 saw fit to provide audio outputs allowing for connection to an extranal amplifier or PA system. Audio inouts are also featured!!

The newly developed ARHA3 (Advanced Real Hammer Action) simulates the natural touch and the playing performance of an acoustic grand piano and is a essential consideration over the basic D3, especially if you are an accomplished player. The D5 key action technology offers superb response and a smooth feel that will satisfy even the most demanding players. Rather than using springs, the action is instead provided by hammer weight, which makes for a truly authentic piano touch. The keyboard provides a lighter touch in the upper range and a heavier touch in the lower range just like the characteristics of a grand piano.

With a traditional looking cabinet in a rosewood finish, the Axus D5 has a full compliment of authentic looking pedals, which help sustain and dampen the onboard sounds.
