Yamaha NP31

An addition to Yamaha's 'Piaggero' series of keyboards and pianos, the NP31 is a slimline 'mobile' piano as it features battery power (although a mains adaptor is supplied as standard) with stereo speakers and just a handful of 10 sounds.

Being so compact and portable, the NP31 can easily be taken along to friends' houses, school, youth clubs etc.

With basic MIDI in & out sockets, these could be converted using a USB-MIDI converter (see below for options), allowing quick and easy connection to PC or Macs running Sibelius or Cubase products for example.

The default piano voice is authentic and the built-in six watt speakers are suited to practice rather than performance. If you are after a piano-type model that is basic and lightweight and are NOT too bothered about the feel (and quantity) of keys, the 76-note semi-weighted NP31 may be worth considering.
