A major breakthrough for those involved in music education, Yamaha's advanced PSR-E433 answers Music Teachers prayers in terms of affordability, quality and sheer convenience!
This amazing five-octave (touch-sensitive) keyboard has seen a serious update in terms of it's looks too, with a sleek, black chassis which now sports a socket for a USB memory stick. This in itself is reason enough for those in education to consider the PSR-E433, as it now means that students own compositions (using the onboard 6-track sequencer) can be stored and recalled quickly and easily.
The sequencer (recorder) allows for 6-tracks of recording with a total memory capacity of 19,000 notes shared between 10 song locations as 'original format' before opting to convert to SMF (Standard MIDI File format). Your songs are stored to internal flash memory before opting to back them up to memorystick.
With a standard USB socket too, the PSR-E433 can be used as a touch-sensitive USB/MIDI controller keyboard for students who compose with music software (Cubase, Logic, Garage-band, Sibelius etc.) Note that USB drivers for both PC and MAC systems are supplied on CD-ROM.
This advanced, yet easy to use keyboard has a superb collection of exciting voices (preset sounds), which have been meticulously 'sampled', and these voices can be layered or split across the keyboard, and the 'AWM technology' powered voices extend to beautiful pianos and strings, through to ethnic, orchestral, synth, acoustic, string sounds, drums and so much more. There are in fact a total of 731 voices to play.
Of course, as you would expect from a Yamaha keyboard, the PSR-E433 provides a healthy collection of musical 'styles' (backing tracks), which can be controlled with the left hand via advanced 'fingered chords' or 'single-finger' chords for those who are just starting to learn to play. Again, Yamaha have sourced these styles from around the world, and each of the 186 styles provided by the PSR-E433 are extremely authentic and include Rock, Pop, Dance, Latin, Swing, Ballad etc. Add to this a fresh and exciting range of world styles which now include Mexican, Arabic, Indian, Brazilian and Chinese!
A new addition for the PSR-E433 is the ability to experiment with 'grooves' courtesy of the new 'Pattern Function'. This is a simple yet effective way of create dynamically varied music 'on the fly', adjusting the Live Control Knobs on the main panel for even more sound, groove and style variation.
Onboard digital effects and even EQ settings allow for overall control of the sound which is played via stereo (2.5-watt) speakers, and of course a headphone socket is standard for those who need to practice in silence. No line output sockets on this model, but a sustain pedal socket is featured (pedal optional) for those who would like to practice basic piano pieces.
For those who wish to be ultra creative and experiment with sounds, the PSR-E433 has a basic synthesiser (in the form of two control knobs) which allows both sounds and styles to be manipulated in a variety of ways. Sound filtering, resonance, effects and envelope parameters are avialable to control in realtime, but if you are recording using the sequencer, any changes made to your current sound is recorded and played straight back.
As required by several examination boards, the PSR-E433 features 32 'registration memories' too which takes a 'snapshot' of your own personal setups for instant recall as you play, and a pitchbend wheel (for simulating guitar string slides for example) is also also provided.
Supplied with a mains adaptor, the PSR-E433 is a significant model for 2013-14, and ideal for Colleges and Universities who may be looking to upgrade or setup a new Music Department.
