This stunner replaces the highly acclaimed and well established Buffet E11 model, their first real wood model.

As a general rule within the U.K., students learn the technique of clarinet playing using an ABS resin instrument, but in France this stage is missed out and they opt for the wooden model straight away! This is because it is crafted from natural blackwood, which helps to create that extra special warmth, whilst giving the player greater response in musical expression.

Hand-crafted from incredibly strong Grenadilla wood, this clarinet is able to produce exceptional tone quality due to the resonant nature of this natural material.

Design and manufacturing quality are very evident with this model. The 17 keys are crafted onto a unique bore design with the solid wood having been treated and lacquered for maximum protection against humidity change. The water-based varnish used means that the instrument is much less susceptible to cracking due to changes in temperature – always a worry when purchasing a wooden instrument! The forged keys are coppered and silvered to give a smooth and solid playing surface.

The action is responsive and incorporates blue steel springs with leather pads finishing everything off nicely and, most importantly, providing that all important seal. The instrument is also made using screwed pillars which makes the whole clarinet much more sturdy and long lasting.
