Having the same size note bars as the YM410 but with a larger scale range makes the YM2400R the perfect instrument for those looking to take the marimba into more solo and small ensemble playing situations, as opposed to the more orchestrally suited range of the YM410. 

The 4.3 octave range of the YM2400R makes it perfect for almost all of the graded marimba repertory. 

This, combined with the selected rosewood bars makes the YM2400 a great starter solo marimba, which will serve you well for many years to come.
