The P116 shares many components with the larger P121, including a solid European spruce soundboard, a material renowned for its warm and rich harmonic properties. Five backposts, also of European spruce, give the piano superb stability and enhance its resonance.

The P116 is made in Yamaha's Indonesian piano factory which is among the most modern and advanced in the world. Owned and operated by Yamaha, the result is high quality control from start to finish.
