Casio's premier model, there is no question that the slimline PX870 'Privia' piano is an elegant and attractive design, and looks more traditional overall with a 'backboard', giving a more solid, upright design.

No rhythms or accompaniment styles on this model as the PX-870 concentrates on it's quality of tone (19 in total) rather than lots of musical fun features. Sounds onboard include Grand Piano (Modern, Classic, Variation), Elec Piano, FM E. Piano, 60‘s E. Piano, Harpsichord, Vibraphone, Pipe Organ Jazz Organ, Elec Organ 1 & 2, Strings 1 & 2, Bass 1 & 2.

This model is a serious contender for mid-range digital pianos, as it employs Casio's superb 'Multi Dimensional Morphing AiR' technology which replicates the sounds of various acoustic piano models very nicely indeed!  Add to this hammer, damper resonance as well as'key off' samples, and you begin to realise that Casio have really pushed the boundaries with this classy model, right down to the top lid which actually opens up for extended sound projection and brightness!

With a huge 256-notes of polyphony across it's Scaled Hammer keyboard (with synthetic Ivory keytops), the action relies on Casio's 'Tri-sensor' technology which ensures ultimate control, ultra-quick response and comfortable playing technique.

The tones include acoustic and electric pianos, as well as strings, harpsichord and all of the sixteen are played through it's 20 watt, enhanced stereo speaker system which is suited to both home or classroom monitoring.

If you need to link to an amplifier or P.A system, stereo outputs (jack type) are provided, and a USB socket allows for further connection to a PC. A standard USB socket allows the user to connect with your existing music software such as Sibelius or Cubase.

Recording? Onboard, with a 2-track (1 song) basic recorder, and your compositions, whilst a metronome, adjustable touch-sensitivity, split/layer and effects are all featured for total control over your sound. The PX870 also has a sliding key cover.

A lovely model with some cleverly thought out features, Casio's PX870 really should not be overlooked when considering a digital piano at his price point for home, classroom, Church or School hall use!
