Yamaha have done it again, and produced a fine portable piano which takes over the reigns from the now discontinued P125 model.

At a staggering 11.5Kg only, the P-225 shown here is essentially a more compact model, with the latest 'GHC' compact key action which also lends itself to weight reduction. Furthermore, Yamaha have improved the 7w stereo onboard speakers and based the premium piano voices on the glorious 'CFX' sound technology, with samples taken from their top-end concert grands!

Available in a black finish (or white if you prefer), and, with a sturdy chassis, the P225 is an extension to Yamaha's world popular 'P' series digital pianos, and has soaked up some of the more significant digital piano technologies from Yamaha's portable models higher in their range. For example, the P225 provides an impressive 192-note polyphony, studio grade effects and Intelligent Acoustic Control features to further enhance the amazing tones (of which there are 24 in total from pianos, to electric pianos, harpsichord, strings, bass, organs and even a synth pad).

With USB compatibility, Yamaha clearly are looking to cater for many end users including those who require an ideal 'semi-weighted'  for practice AND as a controller for computer music application programming.

For Music Teachers in a busy classroom where space saving, portability can be an issue, two headphone sockets are provided for teacher & student to practice and even duet in silence. Students can take this a step further too with a helpful song recorder (2 tracks), which saves any composition as SMF (Standard MIDI File) format.

Standard issue tuning/transpose, split/layer features are onboard and for fun factor, Yamaha have gone a step further with a built-in rhythms'. Rather than play along to a metronome 'click', why not practice to an onboard selection of authentic sounding world drum beats!?

The P-225 offers stereo outputs for connecting to your PA system or external amplifier when performing on stage or in a hall, and therefore we have shown the P-255 in both our 'Portable Digital Pianos' gallery, as well as our 'Stage Pianos' section.

A sustain pad and music rest are both included.

An optional fixed frame wooden stand (L-200) and 3-way pedalboard (LP1) is also available for this model.
