Supplied with a Yamaha B1 fixed-height stool and great quality AKG K52 headphones, this is an ideal practice piano 'solution' for student players in the Music Department or adjacent practice room.

Yamaha's YDP145 Arius compact piano boass Yamaha's acclaimed 'CFX' piano technology with an authentic, rich and dynamic sound.

With a massive 192 notes of polyphony, the YDP145 retains the important aspects demanded by piano teachers. For example, it has a full compliment of 88 Graded Hammer Standard (GHS) keys which are marginally lighter than Yamaha's other models in the lineup. This is not a negative point though, as this is an action aimed at those who are just starting piano playing where smaller hands may not have the strength nor the technique to play a fully weighted model. This is why we class the YDP145 as a 'practice' model.

That said, the YDP-145 does inspire with its ten meticulously 'sampled' tones, and the stereo Yamaha grand piano tone is both rich and dynamic, with three dynamic levels available when playing with expression. Unlike the YDP-144, the YDP145 employs other samples within the premium piano voices such as 'Key-Off' noise for extra realism. Electric pianos and harpsichord also feature and this is all heard via stereo 8-watt speakers with intelligent acoustic control (IAC). This models power output limits it to a small classroom or living room and note there are NO OUTPUTS on this model for external amplifiaction (the 2 x headphone sockets underline the YPD145 as a practice model, where student and teacher can both monitor skill/performance progress in silence).

For those practicing, the YDP145 has a little onboard recorder (1-song / 2-tracks), and for those composing with music software, USB makes an apperance for easy connection to your favourite music computer programs.
